The first trumpets, which are thought to belong to neolithic age, can be shaped as long or short, straight or slightly twisted, but they are made of wood or bamboo.
History of trumpet, whose sound color is very bright, dates back to 2000 BC. At that time it was used in Egypt for religious ceremonies and military purposes. However, it was a small wind instrument that could reach up to two notes. According to the Egyptians, the god of trumpet were Osiris and in the ceremonies held for him, trumpet was the main instrument of the ceremony.
Trumpet is usually a solo instrument due to its structure. George Frideric Handel and Mozart has trumpet concertos. Trumpet started to take place in chamber music at the end of the 19th century and used in compositions in the 20th century.
